Benefits of A Mitsubishi Electric Ductless System
Mitsubishi Electric ductless mini-split systems offer a few distinct advantages over central forced-air heating and cooling systems.
They are extremely quiet. Mini-splits do not have any of the loud sounds that can be associated with a HVAC system, such as fans or compressors. Mitsubishi Electric ductless units only have a fan built into the outdoor unit, which is typically quieter than a traditional HVAC system.
They provide year-round climate control. Ductless systems also combine heating and cooling into one appliance, eliminating the need for separate furnaces and air conditioners, which means year-round comfort at an affordable price.
Since they have no ductwork to install, mini-splits are easy to install and maintain. Ductless systems can be installed in as little as one day, with minimal disruption of your home. Ductless systems also have few moving parts other than the fan system built into the outdoor unit, which means longer working lives and lower maintenance costs over time. Mini-splits can typically last 15 years or more with minimal repairs compared to traditional HVAC appliances that require yearly maintenance contracts and potential furnace replacements every 15 years as well.
- Increased Comfort Due to More Control Over Your Home’s Temperature in Different Zones
- Lower Energy Bills
- Lower Carbon Emissions
- Cheaper Repairs and Maintenance
Ductless HVAC System Installation and Replacement
Installing ductless split heating and cooling is considerably less invasive and time consuming than installing another form of heating system. The lack of ducts allows you to add heat and air conditioning in areas of your home that wouldn’t have had access to it previously. When you want to install heating and cooling in a new house extension, ductless systems are an excellent choice.
Our technicians know ductless Mitsubishi Electric systems inside and out and we’ll make sure they’re installed correctly and are appropriately sized for your home’s unique circumstances and needs.
They receive continual factory training throughout the year from Mitsubishi Electric directly. So you can trust Dave’s to have the necessary expertise and know-how for a perfect mini-split installation!
Ductless HVAC Repair and Maintenance
Mitsubishi Electric ductless systems typically have lower repair bills and need less maintenance than traditional HVAC systems. This is due to the lack of ductwork which can have leaks, cracks, debris build up…and drive up repair and maintenance costs.
Typically, we recommend you change your filters every month or two.
We also recommend cleaning the evaporator coils and checking the refrigerant lines, but you can always sit back and take a vacation from maintenance by letting Dave’s handle it.
Dave’s Club is our maintenance program and we offer several affordable maintenance plans to help you find the best fit for your Mitsubishi Electric system. You can check out our ductless maintenance plans here.
Preventative maintenance will help ensure that your Mitsubishi Electric ductless HVAC system keeps on working without any issues and provides you the comfort you need.
Factory Certified – We’re a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor
We’re proud to be a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor – meaning we are the best choice for Mitsubishi HVAC installation in Frederick, MD.
Why? Because our technicians receive regular factory training directly from Mitsubishi Electric several times throughout the year. This is to ensure that our entire staff is up to date with the latest Mitsubishi Electric HVAC product offerings, technology, and installation knowledge.
Ductless mini-splits have indoor and outdoor components that are connected using refrigerant lines. The system installation needs to be designed based on your home’s needs such as insulation, number of zones, whether or not it has existing ductwork.
This means many installations are unique to the project. The system design matters because it will make or break your Mitsubishi Electric system. We often hear of people experiencing higher energy costs and also costly repairs and maintenance down the line due to improper installation.
By choosing Dave’s as your installer, you ensure proper installation for your new Mitsubishi Electric ductless system!

However beware…
How to Not Void Your Warranty
Increasing your warranty is quite easy but so is voiding your warranty.
Many customers end up voiding their warranty because they try to do the installation themselves or they hire an installer who does not have the proper certifications.
To ensure you do not void your warranty, make sure that your installer is:
- Licensed
- Bonded and insured to protect the client (you)
- Properly certified by the U.S EPA to handle refrigerant
Otherwise you might end up voiding your warranty!
How much does a Mitsubishi Electric Ductless System End Up Costing?
As you might have learned, ductless systems can be a great investment, because they can lower your energy bill while giving you more control and flexibility in setting the temperature in different areas of your home.
This means, you will end up saving money in operating costs. (If installed correctly)
But how much does a ductless system end up costing to install? “It depends”
This can be one of the most annoying and frustrating answers for any homeowner. However, it is often the best response, at least without a detailed review of your specific home needs.
For example, we need to take into consideration factors such as your home’s size, age, existing ductwork and current HVAC system.
In essence, pricing really depends on how many zones and units you may need. We wrote an in depth article explaining ALL the costs in a blog article here

How Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Works
Mitsubishi Electric Products and Issues
One of the reasons Mitsubishi Electric is so great for your HVAC needs is its wide range of products. They offer indoor units that are wall mounted, floor mounted, ceiling cassette, horizontal ducted, and ducted air handlers. Outdoor options include everything from single zone to multi zone options. You can even get a range of advanced controllers including traditional all the way to smart phone operated.
There are a number of reasons you can have issues with your Mitsubishi Electric product including but not limited to:
- Improper installation – Mitsubishi Electric itself lists this as one of the leading reasons why their mini splits fail. Your installer needs to design and install your system based on your home’s unique needs…such as age, size, whether it has insulation or not, etc. We recommend having a professional help you choose and install them, even if you have skills in home improvement.
- Incorrect wire – Mitsubishi Electric recommends using an 14-gauge wire, even though an 18-gauge wire is more common in many scenarios. A smaller gauge wire is not likely to pass inspection in most cases.
- Leaks – These are usually signs of improper installation or wear and tear on the HVAC components. Consult your owner’s manual or a professional for a solution.
